1) We come from diverse backgrounds and hold a range of analyses (or perspectives) approaching the proposed North Korean nuclear weapons test and the further militarization of Asia and the Pacific.

A Salute to Colonel Valery Yarynich

It is my melancholy duty to have to inform you (see appended email from Steven Starr), that his and my colleague, Colonel Valery Yarynich, formerly of the Soviet Strategic Rocket Forces, died 13/12/12 in a hospital in Moscow. He is survived by a wife and two daughters.
I last saw Colonel Yarynich in Sydney Australia, last August, as I organised a speaking tour for him. The tour was highly successful, and there was time for him ’to see Kangaroos and emus in Gosford’ and for a leisurely (...)

Fukushima Radiation Moving Steadily Across Pacific

Teams of scientists have already found debris and levels of radiation far off the coast of Japan, one year after the nuclear disaster at Fukushima. Reports are now suggesting that nuclear radiation has traveled at a steady pace. That contaminated debris and marine life could reach the US coast as soon as one year from now, depending on ocean currents.
