2011 World Conference against A & H Bombs: final declaration

Following the reading of a message from U.N. Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon by Serigo de Queiroz Duarte, the U.N. High Representative for Disarmament Affairs, the International Symposium of the World Conference Agaisnt Atomic & Hydrogen Bombs adopted the following resolution.

Something over 200 leading nuclear abolitionists, including roughly 70 people from countries as diverse as the U.S. and China, Egypt and Vietnam, Britain and Fiji, the Philippines and Norway, and more.

This year’s symposium and conference included powerful testimonies about the Fukushima catastrophe, its continuing fallout, and the need to replace nuclear power with sustainable energy; the continuing dangers of nuclear war and the urgency of nuclear weapons aboliton, analysis of the global situation; and campaigns to win the negotiation of a nuclear weapons abolition convention and to support the global Hibakusha and other victims of radiation.
