Communiqué ACDN, 2020-11-08

The Action des Citoyens pour le Désarmement Nucléaire (ACDN) congratulates Joe Biden and Kamala Harris for their election at the head of the USA and expresses the wish that it will open an age of peace, cooperation and disarmament all around the world.

Now is the time for the 9 Nuclear Weapons States to negotiate the elimination concerted, planned and duly controlled of these weapons until they are all abolished.

Now is the time to reduce drastically in the US, in France and elsewhere the production and the trade of weapons, which are feeding hotbeds of violence throughout the world, sowing suffering, destruction and death, and wasting the resources of the earth.

Instead ot the ideology of confrontation between States, societies and groups against the background of hostility and exitential threats, now is the time to substitute cooperation at all levels and everywhere, so that we may meet together all the challenges that humankind has to face.

The peoples of the whole world must unite their efforts to achieve this goal. It’s what the French people want in their large majority, we are convinced. Now is the time for them to speak their mind and urge France’s leaders to act in this direction and work with the next US government and all other States concerned.
